Reader comment on item: Christianity Dying in Its Birthplace

Dr. Pipes:
Important article and wonderful responses. Thank you. Among so many .. Reuben, I'll re-read .. very helpful information ..

TT .. Thanks for your interesting points concerning BBC's practice of strategically placing dramatic photo-ops to increase sale-ability of news: "..Perhaps the belief in democracy and free speech that's been Israel's greatest foe, allowing the cameras in, whereas I doubt Muslim rulers next door share these desires." My take is that I think it's correct of Israel to let reporters in. What's wrong is the way the Muslim Arab world uses Palestine for propaganda purposes. Could Christian religious authorities be using the same method that Arab regimes use w/ the photo-ops that come out of the "Palestine as Advertising Agency" that is, to distract from their own failures of leadership in order to scapegoat Israel?

Having asked that, I must add that as a Christian, much as I experience the terrific abdication of purpose within the Church, I find it difficult to equate the intentions of Christian leadership with Arab tyrants .. but without clarity of intention, I'm afraid the consequences of such a failure to truth could be the same: Islamic supremacy goals will be granted by all who do not show up for what's right. If we don't show up in substantial ways, the abortion of Christianity from it's birthplace will be added to the pile of destruction accruing in this promised land.
