Again, Reuben, I think you make lots of fine points, particularly on the consequences of the socially engineered insistence on the false equality of all social expressions that multiculturalism demands. Sorry, but I'm simply not putting my religion on the same footing as Islamism; Islamism is not up to the job of equality in that department. And I'm glad you spoke up to Kierkegaard (and I hope he finds useful employment for that great intelligence ...).

Please clarify your thinking when you say: "People are not equal - the principle of the egalitarian democracy is that you treat everyone equally, the project of socialism on the other hand is that you attempt to make everyone equal". Perhaps you inadvertently got this backwards while typing? I hope that's the case because if you meant what you wrote it would be a travesty.

People most certainly are created equal .. not all behaviors or social/religious constructs are equal -- but people, created in God's image -- and as equality is defined in our U.S. Constitution -- are definitely equal to one another. The project of democracy is to recognize and practice our inherent equality so that we can be individuals striving for liberty and happiness. The project of socialism is to neutralize unique human capabilities and nullify individual achievement into nonexistence all while insisting all efforts are equally meritorious. Big difference.
