Logical fallaciesReader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem Submitted by Rakesh Raju (United States), Aug 1, 2003 at 16:45 If one is to judge based on the scriptures, Islam and other religions are equally bad or good.If one is to judge based on practice, then one may not ignore the US govt's role in Saudi Arabia etc For eg: What does it indicate when a former U.S. secretary of state, close to the current administration, defends the Saudi gov't in a suit filed by relatives of 9-11 victims? The US gov't is very very guilty of propping up the funders of Islamic terrorism. It needs to be held accountable. Islam, the religion, is not at all the core issue. We must acknowldge the cynical, untenable bargain that the U.S. gov't continues to uphold by supporting and defending the godfathers of Islamic terror namely Saudi and Pakistan.
