Islam's image will keep getting worse

Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem

Submitted by Nazia K. (United States), Jul 31, 2003 at 11:41

There is little hope for islam's image in this age of information technology. Islam's image will keep getting worse as more and more people will get to know about Quran's intolerant and violent teachings and it's prophet's violent history. In muslim countries Quran's/prophet's critics are executed . In the west apolegetics like CAIR and modern mullahs try to hide the facts and present a sanitized and sugarcoated version of islam (apologist Dr.Sells even wrote a tolerant version of Quran). However , lately ,courageous scholars like Dr. Pipes, Dr. Ali Sina (faithfreedom.org), Dr. Ibn Warraq(secularislam.org & author of "why I am not a muslim") , and Anwar Shaikh (knowislam.org & author of many books) are letting the cat out of the bag through internet and their publications.
The only way muslim's image will improve is by studying their scriptures and history critically with an open mind (unfogged with the fear of hellfire), reject what is intolerant and primitive and keep what is good and useful.
