Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem

Submitted by Adi S (Australia), Jan 8, 2006 at 20:15

The only way to fix the "image problem" is for muslims to accept that they've got a problem within themselves. The world needs to change to develop. Muslims around the world need to open their minds to new ideas, cultures, beliefs and evolve along with the rest of the world. Unfortunately even today muslims are being brought up to turn a deaf ear to any such reasonable attempts. That goes for any culture/religion. Muslims should
- Start taking a genuine interest in the 'world' and not just their religion
- Accept and promote modern education
- Allow women a more active role in society
