The problem with Islam

Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem

Submitted by kevin mangan (Japan), Jul 31, 2003 at 01:38

The problem with Islamism is that it is more of a pseudoreligion or world cult that anything else. If you study its history it is clear that it is a movement for Arabic Imperialism that has thrived on instilling fear in non-Muslims and, in general, the weaknesses of man. Complete submission to any God, statue, animal, or guru without rational thought is recipe for a world disaster. In the PC world we live in today very few people dare say this out loud and openly, but we must be intellectually honest and criticize what needs criticizing. Policitical correstness encourages Islamic correctness and the Islamic apologist in the western world. So what do I want to say: that I support your viewpoints and intellectual honesty and am actually pleased to see increasingly negative opinions on Islam as outlined in your article. Indeed, CAIR is nothing more than a front for the Islamization of America and so it is heartening that more and more Americans are realizing this. I really am not sure what moderate Islam is but we should never show hatred or ill-will towards Muslims in the US. Instead, we should criticize the likes of CAIR and those in the US government (ie, Sen. Ted Kennedy quickly comes to mind) who try to walk the line of politicial correctness and thereby cloud issues with their ignorance. Simple as it may seem, the fact that both CAIR and the US-hating madrassas of the world are supported by Saudi Arabian petrodollars is enough to tell me what I need to know; accordingly, the West and the US in particular must unflinchingly defend the right to openly examine Islam and expose it for what I believe it to be. Indeed, I have no tolerance for intolerance.
