Moderate Muslims: Speak up!Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem Submitted by Ayesha A. (United States), Jul 30, 2003 at 11:54 Besides "council for democracy and tolerance" currently there are at least two other moderate muslim societies with very large following, "Institute for the secularisation of islam" (www.secularislam.org) and "faithfreedom international" (faithfreedom.org) who are trying to educate muslims and steer them from the extreme 7th century intolerant teachings promoted by militant islam. These societies deserve all the backing from north american muslims and non muslims alike if they want to fight islamic terrorism.I totally concur with Dr. Pipes: it is high time that moderate muslims who form the majority of muslims, should start speaking up to stop the fast growing negative image of muslims. The apolegetic tactics of CAIR are backfiring and hurting the image of Muslims in North America.
