Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem
in response to reader comment: ISLAM IS MISUNDERSTOOD

Submitted by Max (United States), Oct 25, 2006 at 20:00

I disagree...Muhammad was known for killing and torturing people for money and power. He first used deception when his clans were weak, but when it came to him gaining power, he used brute military force. In turn Islam, between 600AD and 1700AD, were nothing but great conquerors of the world. Now do they sit in a defensive stance and because of this most people see islam as being a peaceful religion. Let me assure you Islam's history is full of war. They started all of their wars with the exception to the crusades...even the crusades were not legal according to christian beliefs. The major difference between christianity and Islam is the absolute denial of Christ as God. How is it that islam takes what Jesus had said and makes him a hypocrite, yet praises Him as a true messenger and prophet of Allah? I'm sorry but Islam is another man's idea of religion with all the assorted practices and mantra's...just as with catholicism.
