Islamic Law Requires violence

Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem

Submitted by Dallas (United States), Jan 2, 2004 at 11:44

Islamic Law Commans Muslims everywhere to kill all unbelievers. This has been the case since the days of Muhammad. The evil terrorists read this stuff right out of the Quoran.

There, are of course, liberal and moderate Muslims who do not support such violence. they are correct in pointing out that there are portions of the Quoran that forbid violence. However, the moderate view is not considered sound Islamic scholarship. The mainstream of Islamic scholars teach that if there are contradictory passages in the Quoran that the latter passages cancel the former. Guess what? The passage that teach terrorism, rape, and murder were writtem later than the passages that teach peace.

Instead of putting out disinformation, as our president has done, the trumpet needs to be blown that radical Islam,as a system, is an evil murderous system that commands it's followers to take over the world.Yet we need to do this with love for people who are Muslim and not in a way that subjects Muslim people to persecution. My focus is on ideas rather than people.

We must not let Political Correctness get in the way. In Europe and Canada reporting of legitimate dangers runs the risk of violating their speech codes. The problem is so bad that the EU initially refused to release a report of antisemitism because it would be "infammatory" Gimme a break. The right to be warned of real danger supercedes an interest in Political correctness.

Have a blessed day
