Using the American system

Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem

Submitted by Dave G (United States), Jul 30, 2003 at 12:57

Great article, strong points indeed.

The problem as I see it is that just as the extremists have taken over Islam oversees, they are using our system in America to attempt to do likewise here. We seem to be giving them the tools. We should not be in the game of teaching God according to some PC agenda.

The more we pander, the more we subjugate truth. The more we subjugate the truth, the more we become ripe to an ever encroaching influence that has left the Middle Eastern regions in the backward state they are in.

We will also be unwittingly acquiescing to the forces that end up quashing the the true voices of Islam in the long run. The REAL Islam must stand up here if they are going to do it anywhere. Here they stand a chance. In the Middle East, the inclinations towards democracy are being squelched in Iran. That should not happen.

The REAL muslims must stand up and denounce the same growing dark cloud that threatens to subjugate the innocent here as is the case oversees.

If they don't, they will never be heard and will continue to suffer the same fate that has befallen their respective homelands.

If they fail, they are in fact failing in JIHAD! ...even according to their own definition. A fight from within, means a rejection of the destroyer from without!

Sincerely,
Dave G.
