Islam, not a violent religion?

Reader comment on item: [Fixing] Islam's Image Problem

Submitted by N. Khan (United States), Aug 4, 2003 at 13:07

It is so unfortunate that mullahs keep Muslim masses like Rania Elkholy ignorant of the violent history of Islam and prophet Mohammed in his last 10 years in Madina which is real islam. The short lived peaceful Mecca islam as taught by the original 87 suras and practised in Mecca was abrogated by the violent Madina islam as taught by the last 27 suras of Madina . It is understandable. If Muslims knew the truth, who will support mullahs and CAIR whose livlihood depends on muslims' faith?

I strongly recommend all Muslims read late Dr. Ali Dashti's book "23 years, a study of prophethood of Mohammed", available at Amazon.com; an unbiased biography by a learned scholar. This book cost him his life; he died in Khomeini's prison at age 92.
