Dear Dr Pipes,

M Tovey correctly stated that Iran's Khomeini has reached an untenable position. He also reiterated and quoted your hope that Islam develops a secularistic and humanistic Outlook. I think Islam is very far from being humanistic or secular. In its current form, it is still unsustainable and incompatible with other cultures and religions. Intellectual pressure on Muslims to change must be maintained.

Muslim should be encouraged to practice private spiritual Islam at home but special privileges extended to Muslims by non-Muslims must be withdrawn. Muslim-only nations are unacceptable. Selfish rules involving inter-faith marriages are unjustifiable. Incessant 24x7 talk about Islam is unacceptable. Islam-uber-alles is unacceptable. Sharia is unacceptable except those parts of Sharia that are universally agreeable. Wars of independence to establish Muslim-only enclaves are unacceptable. Disruption of traffic for prayers 365x5 is unacceptable. Prayer rooms in offices are unacceptable. Loudspeakers on Mosques are unacceptable. Protection given to Islam against polite and objective criticism is unacceptable.

All people who oppose special treatment given to Muslims, should speak up. Others should support them. This must continue relentlessly until Islam changes.
