Reader comment on item: Ban the Burqa - and the Niqab Too
in response to reader comment: How I Came to Love the Veil

Yvonne's testimony to 'convert and veil ' is the stuff of reverence to those who remain naive of political and social realities and stife with radical religiousity. Her rather selective consciousness on moral and ethical relativism is pregnant with indoctrination and speaks volumes of a sense of abject righteousness and a holier-than-thou attitude. In the spirit of free choice one needs to address ' forced cover ' .....

let's take Yvonne back to Afghanistan, shall we, and help her recall her sisters clad head-to-toe in the only outfit hanging in their closets- the BURQUA- Pray tell is this travesty simply a quirk of society, a spiritual choice willingly embraced by all the women, or perhaps something more sinister ?!*#%\

Afghanistan certainly remains the prototype of ' Forced Cover ' however with the rise of islamism and sha'riah, srtiving for Wahhabi purity on the back of its women in virtually all Islamic states, this ugly phenomena trangresses into the pathological.

Are you prepared to speak up for your oppressed sisters on this issue of ' 'forced cover ' or is that simply the ' crescent ' your sisiter must bear in the name of purity and religion ?????

!Awaiting your reply!
