One Can Dress Modestly In Western Clothes, There Is No Need For The Burqa Or The Niqab

Reader comment on item: Ban the Burqa - and the Niqab Too

Submitted by AnneM (United States), Aug 3, 2007 at 20:31

First of all, thank-you Mr. Pipes for an excellent article. When it comes to the issue of the burqa and the niqab in western society, there is simply no need for either since a Muslim women can dress modestly in western clothes without the need for either. Both simply are looked upon in a bad light in view of the strained situation between Muslims and non-Muslims and in the case of the burqa, a possible safety hazzard. Also a form of disrespect for the God-given dignity of the Muslim woman herself. One can be a good Muslim woman and dress in modest western clothes.
