Swati, you are cynical about secularism in India as your post suggests. What a surprise!!!

But it is well known that India's Congress party leaders, Hindu intellectuals and media are all bunch of liars and hypocrites and nothing else. And Muslims are the foremost in this list.

Secularism in India is to be practised only by Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, aethists etc but not by Muslims. Not only that Muslims lecture people of other religions to be secular but when it comes to them they have to practice every wiley deed written in Quran. When Hindus want to defend their religion, they are branded "fundamentalists" but a Muslim can do any terroristic act as seen in Kashmir and he will only be following his religion as required by allah. It is these people who will make India Islamic in future if Hindus don't wake up and take action.

Isn't it ironic when a most fundamentalist Muslim nation, Saudi Arabia, praises Indian governrmemnt minister(probably Arjun Singh) for his secularism while visiting Saudi arabia a few months back. As if he needed the credential from a Muslim country where no other religion is allowed to be practised and one can lose his life for doing that. Could anybody be more hypocritic than the Saudis??? Indian Muslims also come in the same class as Saudis.

In the case of Tasleema, Hyderabad police has filed a complaint agaist her for hurting the feeling of Muslims in India. But what about Muslims and their Quran which tells them to kill Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslims(tha'ts where Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs are included). What about hurting these people physically, not just hurting the feelings!!! Can someone file a case against Muslims???Talk about Indian laws and the Indian police!!! Prosecute the victim and not the perpetrator. The case should be thrown out without merit, if the Indian judiciary has any sense in them.

And the three MLA's from Hyderabad who assaulted Tasleema should be prosecuted to the full extent of law. Will they be brave enough or succumb to the pressures from Manmohan - Sonia Gandhi government.

Hindu leaders in their infinite wisdom allowed Muslims to stay in India at the time of independence inspite of giving Mulsims a country of their own, Pakistan. Now, the way Muslim population in India is increasing, they will be demanding several more Pakistans in every state of India, just like the Balkans. When Muslims themselves said they can't live with Hindus(Muhammad Iqbal first proposed the idea of Pakistan in 1930's) and they need a nation of their own, why would Hindu leaders insist on keeping them in their country??? Every Muslim should have been sent to Pakistan at the time of independence to save India from future break ups. However, hindsight is 20/20 and human beings do not learn from history and are doomed to commit the same mistake again and again.
