This is Really Getting Scary!

Reader comment on item: Ban the Burqa - and the Niqab Too

Submitted by Rev. Mary Todd Pendergast (United States), Aug 2, 2007 at 14:14

I am writing this because I don't know what else to do. I have been hearing about Michigan and particularly the Dearborn area and it is frightening to me that this can be taken over by Muslims and no one does anything about it. The hatred is spreading and no one seem to care. These Muslims have come to a country where they can get away with every bizaare command of their religion and yet they teach hatred in their schools and mosques. My fear is growing and along with it is my intolerance of everything Muslim. Why don't the moderates or those who don't hate speak out? Their silence seems to me to be agreement. Why are they here is they hate us so. Isn't there anyone who can do anything.

Christians can't pray in school but the Muslims want to disrupt learning and pray on their knees five times a day. They are demanding more and more religious rights that the rest of us don't have. Where are the right wing Christians when you really need them? Will Michigan become a Muslim state complete with their laws (Shariah?)? This is becoming intolerable and I need to find someone or some organization to support that will address this terrifying problem. HELP!
