The Saeh library in Tripoli and the barbarism of Islamists

Reader comment on item: Islam vs. History

Dr. Pipes

This is indeed shocking and those criminals that set the place of fire do not understand or care that such library had rare books not only on Christianity but also Islam and manuscripts in Syriac

It is a fact that the Syrian and Lebanese Christains' contribution to the preservation of the history of Bilad al-Sham is just amazing and even the best Arabic language dictionaries in the Arab world are those written by priests in Lebanon and Syria

If you examine the archaeology of the city of Baalabek in Lebanon it reveals the destruction that Lebanon has witnessed under the Arab imperialists in the first 3 centuries of Islam so it seems that history is repeating itself
