Islam destroying history

Reader comment on item: Islam vs. History

Submitted by JACQUES HADIDA (United States), Jul 3, 2012 at 22:15

Hello Daniel,

Just two hours before reading this note I asked myself the same question: What is wrong with Islam destroying antiquities that the world cherishes as being part of our history? Regardless whose culture it is, they all have merits and value. Not so for the Moslems. Why?

Also why don't Islam smart leaders, realizing the fallacy of such atrocities , why don't they come up front and strongly oppose these acts? Is it that they agree with them? For if so, then out world is in deep trouble.

I just read that the wise men of Al Azhar University are forbidding the cutting of tomatoes in two halves as it shows a cross and thus, it does not please Allah. So either you do not eat tomatoes or you eat them without cutting them, unless you go for cherry tomatoes, but no way since it is an Israeli invention

Islam will keep amazing me in a sad way

Best regards
