Our dear Mozere wrote this little gem

By contrast Hindu and Chinese civilisations grew by evolution since there was no barren land full of hostile tribesman surrounding the Ganges

Really? then how do you explain the fact that the Muslim barbarians invaded India (you have the wealth, food and manpower as well as a river and in this case the Ganges not unlike your example of Egypt) and killed, enslaved and raped 90M Hindus and they also destroyed the Hindu temples and the Buddhist centers of education as in the case of the Nalanda library and even destroyed Buddhism in its place of birth you tell us

So it seems that your little theory is no more than gobbledygook nonsense

Now let me help you barbarians always invade the land of the civilized because the civilized had something that the barbarians lacked (be it food or land or slaves! Oh books of learning? It is the last item on the minds of the barbarians) and this is the reason why the Turkish barbarians invaded and then destroyed the Byzantine empire and this is why your so called prophet invaded and destroyed the great civilizations of the late antique period

I'm sure Adam Smith is turning in his grave with a smile on his face

How come you did not know that?

India was able to confront the barbarian Muslim invasion because:

1. Hinduism is a very versatile tradition that can change, reshape and then move on. However Islam is stuck at a point in time in 7th century Arabia and with very profound doctrines as Vedanta Dharma or the way of the truth long after Islam is gone we will still have Hinduism vibrant and evolving and very much a religion made by human beings for other human being

2. Hinduism never claimed to have all the answers and never claimed to be anything but the religion of the people of India and you know what? Long after islam is gone the only three religions left would be Hinduism and Judiasm because they are ethnic religions so as long as you have Indians and Jews we will have these two very great tradition! Oh the third? It is Buddhism but again as long as we have smart human beings we will continue to have Buddhists

3. There were too many Hindus and Buddhists in India to kill and to enslave and rape and the Muslim barbarians realized that it is more profitable for them and less messy to regard the Hindus and the Buddhists as part of ahl al-kitab and Muslims can start collecting the mafia tax called al-jizya now do you get it

4. And where does the Ganges fit in your little theory our dear Mozere?

India and its Hindu culture survived despite of the Muslim barbarians and this is not unlike the fact that the great Persian culture survived the Muslim and Arab invasion of their land and in the process reshaped the religion of the Arabs and I do happen to believe that the first nation/state to abandon Islam it would be the nation of Iran and its people
