AmeriKKKa : Pretend democracy

Reader comment on item: The Paterson 'Protocols'

Submitted by James (United Kingdom), Jan 18, 2003 at 17:18

America the freest country to date? No; what rubbish.
When the celebrated U.S. Constitution was made, Blacks and Native Americans were not included, not even considered in the so-called Rights. Even when it came to ending slavery, a whole Civil War was needed, while in other "less democractic" countries, for example Britain, slavery was abolished by Royal Assent.

It wasn't even until the 1960's that Blacks got total freedom while in some European countries they had the same rights as everyone else.

And take sodomy. There are 10 States which have laws against it for both men and women and 4 States with laws which only apply to men. In Idaho you can get life for sodomy! America the land of the free?

Don't make me laugh.
