Hitler's right-wing credentials

There is actually a fairly simple test to determine whether Hitler leaned to the right or to the left.

Who were his allies? All right-wing countries.

Who were his enemies? Communists certainly topped the list. None was from the extreme right.

At home, his opposition all came from the left. His support came mainly from the right-wing power stucture of Germany.

With the Republican Party becoming more extreme right-wing by the day, it is understandable why Republicans would be in a mode of denial about the Hitler's position on the political spectrum.

In this country, the extreme right wing [Henry Ford, for example, was never on the left of anything] supported Hitler right up until we went to war with them and it became too unpatriotic to voice their feelings any more. All of the left wing groups in this country were totally opposed to Hitler.

Trying to make a case for Hitler being on the left is just nuts.
