Hitler was not right or left, he was of another dimension

Reader comment on item: The Paterson 'Protocols'
in response to reader comment: Hitler was right wing

"]Hitler's] ideal society was rooted in inequality".

Are you sure of that? Seriously though; Hitler's ideology was a monstrosity that resembles no other in History, not Fascism and not Communism. He spewed garbage that didn't even attempt to be backed by even the most primitive intellectual substance. He did us a favour in one sense. The words coming from him and his cohorts sounded so absurd to the trained mind, that it jumped out at you and said "We are mad, so beware of us. Get together and plan your survival."

So even the question as to whether he was right or left is almost meaningless. I agree that academics seem to slot him in the right. But only for convenience. It enables us to make sense of the middle of the 20th century. Making him a rightist is kind of like Einstein inserting his cosmological constant; thrown in to a structure to explain how the cosmos can be static against the force of gravity. Likewise how could we explain even the existence and appeal of Hitler if not as an opposite to the Communists. But really folks, right wing is just a broad vague concept, to leftwing academics nothing more than a synonym for counter-revolutionary . If the US's Conservatives, or any Conservative from any Western Democracy are right wing then Hitler is not of that. Conservatives are anti-government control and Hitler was about control in an extreme way. Come to think of it, kin of like Communism.

Who own's Hitler's, hopefully nobody!
