What explains popularity of the Protocols

Reader comment on item: The Paterson 'Protocols'

Submitted by Ralph Anspach (France), Aug 30, 2010 at 07:33

The forgery uncovers its provenance and the date of its concoction when one of the Elders explain that the only forces which can stop their world conquest are the "Russian Autocracy" and the Papacy

The Protocols come out of the woodworks when a people suffer a disaster and go into denial about its cause. Rather than taking responsibility for the failure, they attribute it to some fantastic and mighty outside conspiracy. For example, Germany capitulated in WW I on the behest of its military command because fresh American troops destroyed all hopes of prevailing. Chauvinists, fascists and fledgling Nazis refused to believe that mighty Germany which had just defeated Russia and still occupied parts of France could have lost because of its own weaknesses. Instead, they attributed the loss to a might world-wide conspiracy by the hated Jews. Hitler bought it and it inspired him to wage his wars against Jews. He made the Protocols required readings in all schools. The brainwashed youth then cooperated willingly in the Holocaust in the belief that the Jewish conspirators and their children had to be killed to save Germany.

Now it has re-surfaced in the Muslim world, especially in the Arab countries and Iran. Why? Because that huge world was defeated many times by tiny Israel. Instead of attributing these humiliating defeats to the failures of their own societies and the valor of the dhimmy Jews, they bought the Protocol trash ideas according to which their defeats were not by the apelike Jews but by a successful Jewish world-wide conspiracy which had turned against them the whole Western world. It is pathetic that normal people buy into such trashy science fiction but as the Nazi example shows, this can have terrible consequences especially since even failed states such as the Arab ones and Mullohcracy Iran can wield nuclear weapons which makes them more powerful than Hitler ever was. .
