Fascism, Communism and Militant Islam

Reader comment on item: The Paterson 'Protocols'

Fascism and communism were characterised as 'totalitarian' ideologies because they despised the individual. Fascism and communism are identified with the twentieth century. After the collapse of communism in 1989 it was tempting to assume- as Francis Fukuyama did- that that was the 'end of ideology'. The reality is that life is much more difficult than that and that Militant Islam has replaced communism as the world's only coherent ideology. According to Hannah Arendt, all totalitarian systems are characterised by anti-Jewish racism. Muslim Extremists hate Jews. With the excuse of anti-Zionism, Muslim Extremism preach hatred of Jews. Jews are hated whether they wherever they were born. Hate-crimes against Jews are now a common feaure of organisations such as Islamic Jihad, Hamas and Bin Laden's Al-Quaeda. Anti-Jewish hatred is becoming very common in all the Middle East. What is going on in the Middle East is a reminder of Nazi-fascism and Stalinism, both anti-Jewish ideologies. Call for the extermination of Jews come today mainly from the middle eat.
