Hitler was left wing

Reader comment on item: The Paterson 'Protocols'
in response to reader comment: Hitler was indeed "right wing"

It seems a lot of leftists have odd definitions of what is "right" wing. The attached blog post makes a thorough argument about why Hitler was left wing.

http://tim.2wgroup.com/blog/archives/000464.html

>Hitler was opposed to Marxism and demonstrated by his writings.

If conservativism is taken to be short for Judeo-Christian conservativism or the consveration of Judeo-Christian values ( people across the political spectrum idolize someportions of the past) there's a good case to be made that Hitler was more opposed to Judeo-Christian values than liberal democracies were, placing him further on the left than said democracies. Internicean struggle doesn't nessicarily prove that the two parties are on the opposite sides of the political spectrum.

>The philosophy of the Nazis and fascism in general is an extreme form of nationalism which in fact is >a right wing ideology.

Given the previous definition of 'right wing' as conserving Judeo-Christian values; the book of Judges described Israel's demand for a king as being a symbolic rejection of God. God is depicted as prefering minimal government. Church opposition to Hobbeses "Leviathan" was strong. How do you support the assertion that a strong national government is 'right wing?'

>The Nazi philosophy was not based on any kind of economic philosophy.

Of course it had an economic component. You couldn't work if you weren't part of the German labor party. It tremendously increased government control of the economy. etc.

>it was based on racism, with the Germans being the "master race". That is indeed is right wing

Care to offer any proof that isn't bald assertion or circular reasoning?

>Let's not forget that many American capitalists at the time were pro-Hitler.

If Bill Gates is a Democrat, does that make the Democrats more "right wing?!" Many large businesses love government help for a variety of reasons. They can lobby effectively to use it for their advantage.
