The real "enemy"

Reader comment on item: Israel's Strategic Incompetence in Gaza
in response to reader comment: It's the US policies that are responsible for Israel's strategic insecurity.

Thank you MD Souza.

This past administration with the incompetent bush cheney machine have held back Israel from finishing off her enemies, ie. hizbolla in Lebanon, fatah, and now hamas. All because gwbush wanted to claim the legacy of having brokered a lasting peace for Israel. Their ideas were the same as the failed policy of other U.S. Presidents, land for peace. Today, we see the IDF withdrawing from gaza with the false hope of no more rockets from hamas. The UN will bleat and pout and the EU will continue to vilify the nation of Israel.

I watched the editorial page of our states main news paper, and as soon as Israel acts in self defense, the anti semite comments begin to flow. BUT, this time, I was pleasantly surprised by responses from the general public supporting Israel in her right to defend her borders. They must go further to redress the lies about Israel, and undo the liberal press at thier foundation, The editorial pages.

The war to be won by Israel is in the press, and undoing all the half-truths concerning the rights of the "palestinians" to land in Israel, must be set straight . Israel must never count on the fact that US politicians profess support to Israel many of them are closet anti-semites. Americans are quick to offer support for a cause, but just as quickly forget the reason for the support.

As for the western world, it should withdraw from the arab/islam appeasing U.N. and revive nato for common defense. We are seeing russia and putin cozying up to iran and other anti west countries including venezula in our southern hemisphere. I fear America is asleep on duty. Meanwhile that decrepit monster bin ladin is still free to issue his crap to an adulating world.

Yes, bush will have his legacy, and may we be strong enough to survive it..
