Subject: #892: Pipes discusses "Israel's Strategic Incompetence in Gaza" for Jer. Post

NO doubt there is a lot of truth to what Dr. Pipes says here. However this is not the time to look backwards and place blame; rather it is time to move on and fix the problem.

It seems pretty obvious that despite the errors of the past Israeli leaders have come a long way and are taking care of protective imperatives in a way that is long overdue.

Perhaps the most important thing to note is that, far from being tired and ready to give up, Israel now seems energized and quite ready to take on her enemies...despite the howling of the liberal academics and UN dogs at her heels. And in a larger sense this is the way it should always be: Israel forever thinking and acting on its own without regard to the criticism and heckling of those who would gladly see the Jewish state crushed.

WIth the success of this ongoing military action will come the confidence to take on Iran too. At present Israel is using only a small fraction of the forces that she can amass. When it's time to take on Iran, perhaps the entire Israeli air force will attack and cripple - perhaps obliterate - Irans' murderous nuclear ambitions. And the world will howl again, but heave a furtive sigh of relief that tiny mighty Israel is there to protect us all.

The only regret is that so many fine young Israeli men will have to lose their lives and health in their commitment to protect their families from these Hamas animals.
