Amid the shifting sands of opinion, one thing is for sure: Israel must maintain security control of the territories in order to dismantle the subterranean terrorist infrastructure and prevent it from being rebuilt. Israel can only exist as a heads-up state. To the extent that it succumbs to Olmert's ennui, it gives opportunity to its enemies.
