M. Tovey,

Pardon me, but did you read my post?

I stated that Christ, and Christ alone will accomplish God's covenant regarding the restoration of Israel, ACCORDING TO THAT COVENANT.

By CHRIST, not HUMANS.

The nation of Israel in scripture is defined by five covenants. The first two covenants, sworn during the age of the patriarchs, prepared the way for founding the nation. God made the the remaining three after the Jewish race had become a Jewish nation.

1. The Abrahamic Covenant (Gen. 12:1-3; 13:16; 22:15-18; 26:4; 28:14; 35:11; Ex. 6:2-8)

2. The Palestinian Covenant (Gen. 13:15; 15:18-21; 26:3-5; 28:13-15; 35:12; Ex. 6:4, 8; Num. 34:1-12; Deut. 30:1-9; Josh. 1:2-4; Jer. 32:36-44; Ezek. 11:16-21; 36:21-38)

3. The Mosaic Law (Gen. - Deut.)

4. The Davidic Covenant (2 Sam. 7:8-17; Ps. 89:20-37)

5. The New Covenant to Israel (Jer. 31:31-34; cf. Heb. 8:8-12; 10:15-17)

ALL DIVINE COVENANTS TO ISRAEL will be executed by THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, according to Biblical scripture; at present, only the Mosaic Law has been fulfilled completely - in His first advent Christ fulfilled the entire Law, by His sinless life and substitutionary death for the sins of mankind (Matt. 5:17; Rom. 10:4).

In His second advent, He will fulfill the Abrahamic, Palestinian, Davidic, and New Covenants when He returns to earth to restore Israel and rule over her.

Quoting you, M. Tovey - "So there will be a restoration according to the covenant prophesied in Ezekiel, and that is happening moment by moment before our very eyes..."

NO, the "restoration" is NOT HAPPENING. Christ HAS - NOT - YET - RETURNED. While geographicaly speaking there are A FEW similarities between what scripture reveals PRECEEDS Christs' second advent, and what exists today (basically, that the state of Israel exists), there are MANY, MANY circumstances revealed in scripture which HAVE NOT OCCURED.

Where are the 144,000 Jewish evangelists (Rev. 7)? The tribulational saints, Moses and Elijah (Rev. 11:3)? The Revived Roman Empire? The False Prophet (the Jewish Dictator of Israel)? The "seven bowls" of Rev. 16? Where is "the abomination of desolation" (statue set up in the Holy of Holies; all who fail to worship are put to death -Rev. 13:15)? The King of the North (as described in Dan. 11:40)?

Two things will occure before the Tribulation: 1. the removal of all believers from the earth at the Rapture of the Church (1 Thess. 4:13-18), and 2. the removal of the restraining ministry of God the Holy Spirit (2 Thess. 2:6-7) .

If you are a believer in Christ BEFORE the Tribulation, ergo a member of The Bride of Christ, you WILL NOT be here to witness the Tribulation.

What frustrates me to no end, M. Tovey, is the vast body of evangelicals that somehow assume THEY will be responsible for the restoration of Israel. This is one more "chink in the armor" regarding the cause for ISRAEL TO DEFEND HERSELF - HERE, and NOW.

I have no doubt you are sincere in your support of Israel, M. Tovey. I just ADAMANTLY disagree with, to put it bluntly, ignoring the Word of God at the expense of Israel's ABSOLUTE, IMMEDIATE NECESSITY to defend herself, HERE, and NOW.
