in response to reader comment: Comment by Klew

Abdullah Serif writing from that infidel hell hole, Canada says:

"Hmmm...How many times have I heard that type of ... commentary ? Here's the problem though..
While I responded to a former commentary that was clearly based on an "illogical" premise.......

So, how does banning cars or trucks = banning Islam ? Muslims drive cars and trucks, and so do non-muslims. But I like your inference here: Since Islam should be banned because muslims drive cars and trucks, that would mean.... there is no such thing as a non-muslim is there ? ! Welcome to the fold brother."

The fold of people who can't think logically? Why do you think it would mean there is no such thing as non-muslims? Unfortunately this is yet another prime example of twisted thinking based on distorted premises - muslims seem very adept at this. Let's rephrase the sentence giving it a less-muslim flavour - so that Mr. Serif can step back a bit and perhaps take a clearer look.

Instead of muslims and non-muslims - let's use communists and capitalists. SO it becomes:

"So, how does banning cars or trucks = banning Communism ? Communists drive cars and trucks, and so do capitalists. But I like your inference here: Since Communism should be banned because communists drive cars and trucks, that would mean.... there is no such thing as capitalist is there ? ! Welcome to the fold brother."

There is no logic at all in that statement - it's a total non-sequitur. Just as there is none at all in the original statement of Mr.Serif.

But in a way - this is beside the point. What Klew actually write was 'since cars and trucks USED IN TERRORIST ATTACKS are driven by muslims, you might want to simply advocate banning Islam."

Any rational person can see the link being made. Muslims motivated by their belief in what they think Islam is saying - amongst other things, use cars and trucks (and aircraft) to attack non-Muslims and destroy property. If Muslims were banned from driving - then clearly attacks from cars and trucks driven by Muslims would not occur. So if Islam was banned - the 'philosophy that allowed tens of thousands of borderline and actual psychopaths to justify their actions by picking any of the many suitable phrases out of its guidebook - the problem would not exist in the first place.

Thank you for making me smile.
