The GREAT Gamaliel and of Hillel the wise...Yes of course the two that knew in their bones that to go along is to get along, allowing one to live to a ripe old age among the religious and roman leaders who coveted power for self glory.

Could it be the first "go along" would be to gloss over the first Commandment of Almighty G_d to Love the Lord your G_d with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind.?, and to the second, give more weight, to love thy neighbor which, of course, would be less controversial and not a competition for Caesar and the Jewish Leaders of that time.

The Wise Teacher , The Son of Man, The Beloved Son of G_d in whom He is well pleased. His words written in our Holy Book by His Apostles who were given power from Heaven to spread the Good Word so that those living in darkness saw a Great Light. Peter beloved Apostle who enlisted the aid of Paul to help with the Good News, both human but both endowed by the Holy Spirit. Peter who beseeches his brethren to accept Paul as a humble servant of the Lord, we accept because we know that it is only through the Grace of God that we too are not blind.

Without the first Commandment all the rest of the Laws are of men subject to human reasoning, flawed from the first, a rock that has been corrupted by the carving of mankind in his own image.
