Iftikhar: Who is this "Lord Burtend Russell?" I know a famous English philosopher named Bertrand Russell; is that the person you meant? He definitely was no friend of Islam! He was an atheist, in fact, although a very intelligent one.

Why don't Muslim women cover in Pakistan? Are they not devout Muslims? Why do they desire to wear that atrocious attire in the West? Where in the texts and tenets of Islam (the Qu'ran, the hadiths, the Siras) does it mandate women to cover themselves in shapeless bags without even their eyes being visible? Are you Muslim males so perverted sexually that you are turned into lusting animals at the sight of a woman's face or arm or ankle?

It seems that Muslim women are in many cases the victims of "Stockholm Syndrome"; they are spiritless, obsequious submitters to their tyrannical husbands, fathers and Imams and Mullahs. Of course they will state that they are happy to wear dehumanizing "tents" because they would be subject to severe discipline were they to rebel or complain.

You talk about the "credit crunch in the world being due to the policies of blue-eyed westeern educated elites." What rubbish! name ONE Muslim country which has a healthy economy not artificially propped up by oil riches! Islamic education is DISMAL! The rich Saudi princes send their kids to the West to get a decent education; Islam is a detriment to education and industry and prosperity, and to human welfare in general. In Islam, women are severely restricted from gaining a good education, and they may even be beaten for attending school in some Muslim states.
