Reader comment on item: [The Issue of Compulsion in Religion:] Islam is What Its Followers Make of It
in response to reader comment: Islam V Hinduism

Submitted by Satnam Bansal (United Kingdom), Dec 15, 2006 at 14:25

I am a Sikh. I should of all people show detest towards HIndus and Muslims for the genocide they have comitted (not saying that some stupid people from my religion didnt do the same too) but i learnt that not all Muslims and Hindus are like that. I live in London and i have several friends, 2 muslim, 2 hindu and the rest white and black.

Quite frankly, i am disgusted with the amount of racism from both sides. you are both trying to prove your point by dissing the other religion and Hindus r winning because most people are anti-islamic without knowing it. I personally dont know who to side with.

My religion has taught me that all religions can find God (thats what makes us unique) and if the western world is not ready for Islam that is there problem because Islam on the whole is a very peaceful religi9on. I am not praising 9/11 in anyway-i lost a family member that fateful day, it was and still is one of the darkest days in this world's history but i fear more is too come if we don't start to forgive.

I myself was anti islamic to start with but i changed my ways. The first step towards world peace, if we can ever achieve this is to accept Turkey into the EU for i fear that a WW3 will occur between Christianity and Islam. Islam is not the cause of the problems that people keep blaming them for. Hindus cannot claim that they are peaceful people. GO onto google and research operation bluestar and 1984 anti sikh-riots then we will see who is peaceful. Aslo check out some videos of this on google videos but be warned some contain shocking images.

Back to the topic, i dont want to take sides but i this annoying thing of ganging up on Muslims is starting to tick me off. I do believe if the way things are continue then it will be Islam V Christianity, Judaism, HIndusim and i have no idea whose side my religion would take but things have got to stop. TO cut out terrorism America should go to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and even India ( i know they r already in Irag and Afghanistan) and start at one end of the country and work there way thorugh combing and securing the areas because right now my brothers we r on the verge of a war supposedly caused by Iran but Bush is equal to blame-he has killed over 300,000 iraqis. I've had my say. If i have offended anyone in any way i sincerely apologise
