Misconception about the word KAFIR among the hindu peopleReader comment on item: [The Issue of Compulsion in Religion:] Islam is What Its Followers Make of It Submitted by M Y KHATRI (India), Jan 3, 2009 at 10:54 My dear Indian you should study islam before writing about it dont just write whatever u have heard from some anti muslim or anti islamic sites.KAFIR is not a bad word it is a misconception among many hindus that these term is a bad word used for them. The meaning of KAFIR is a person believing in many GODS and not one.Like christians are called NASARA,jews are called YAHUDA. people who worship many gods or involved in paganism are called KAFIRS. During the coming of islam there was no word as hindus it was later invented by the british Christians who invaded and ruled India ,HINDU means a person living across Indus river the persians used to call us indoos kindlr refer to encyclopedia brittanica and get your doubt cleared,I m also a Hindu because i m living across indus river but my religion is ISlam and i m a muslim,u are also hindu but your religion may be sanatan dharm, jainism, buddhism or a christian.
