Reader comment on item: [The Issue of Compulsion in Religion:] Islam is What Its Followers Make of It
in response to reader comment: Why is there such an anti- Hindu hysteria among some muslims?

Hi there Mike (excuse the shortening),

The person you talked to, who got angry, who has a PHD is seriously wrong, firstly their PHD is probably a (Pretty Huge Dilemma) and not a doctorate.

Secondly India or as many call it Bharat, was first populated by followers of the Sanatana Dharma (the foundations of what today is known as Hinduism).

This has been the case for some 2 Million Years, however over the last 2,000 years the country has been ruled by Muslim and Christian (British) rulers.

Its worth nothing that Jews were allowed into the country only since the British empire took hold of the country and since Indian became independant. Mainly through the fact that it is widely known that a number (but not all) Muslims hate jews.

I think the person you spoke to has a serious case of "My religion is never wrong, islam cannot ever be wrong, and that Islam cannot ever be questioned". Which saidly in a modern world cannot every continue (as it will only from within start to fall to pieces, human nature requires us to question everything).

Where as i might added, Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma, teaches that in order to become one with god, you must question his teaching and in turn you will gain a greater understanding (after all gods words are so beautiful and amazing that even the brightest of men struggle to understand it), however more importantly the Sanatana Dharma states that how a person chooses to worship god is entirely up to the individual (after all worshipping god is an experience only you and god can have).

One of the key reasons why Hinduism or the Sanatana Dharma has lasted so long and will without a shadow of a doubt continue to.

Where as Islam has already once been removed from countries where they once ruled. Needless to say that soon this will happen again is Muslim continue to cause terror throughout the world.

P.s i am actually a Christian but have great admiration for all religion
