Daniel Pipes states:

"More liberal Muslims (such as the Ataturkists) can be marginalized by letting an Islamist-led Turkey enter the European Union."

In my opinion, the liberalization of Islam and the liberalization of Turkey can only be helped by allowing Turkey to join the E.U. -- and the sooner the better.
