It is not a question of returning lands to anyone, but only of honest narration of the history of a land or region. And if there are many versions then allowing the plausible versions to be told.

This is where islam and muslims have played a very cynically islam-glorifying one-sided role and got away with it.

The SU was evil - but politics consists of utilising even the bad to fight the worse. Hence I remain with the thesis that the US should have and could have used SU to de-islamise regions. In the SU itself de-islamisation progressed quite well. Was that not a good achievement?
