"Speaking Turkish to Syria"

Reader comment on item: Hold Damascus Responsible [for Hezbollah Violence in Southern Lebanon]

Submitted by Jascha Kessler (United States), Aug 1, 2006 at 13:46

Perhaps speaking Hiroshima to Damascus, with a 72 hour ultimatum might work better, with a bounce to Tehran? I would suppose this is at the back of most people's minds, those with some imagination and memory.

There is scarcely, on the evidence so far, any hint of translators who can speak that Turk-Kurd lingo to Assad, not in Jerusalem, not in the EU, and certainly in the fog of Foggy Bottom. But then, why show the cards in one's hand, if all know those cards are in the deck (not jokers, I mean).
