Reader comment on item: Hold Damascus Responsible [for Hezbollah Violence in Southern Lebanon]
in response to reader comment: oil a factor

Your discussion is logical. Perhaps I am too idealistic. For instance, why aren't we as cynical about the oil and acting the same way as China, that of cowering because of our huge need for it? I'd like to think there's an issue of right and wrong sometimes, aside from issues such as oil and money, etc. And for all that can be said that the president could've done this or that differently and maybe better, he's close to being alone in the world when it comes to taking a courageous stand and sticking with it -- in the face of economy and popularity concerns.

I'm a broken record on this issue -- it's about killing innocent people in a sick, demented, aggressive, sociopathic manner. I don't give a hoot for why these people are mad at us. Call me simple. But it's a simple issue -- right and wrong. Also, when they come to the U.S. and try and "teach" us -- the freest democracy on the planet -- how our freedom should be altered to suit their sick vision of domination -- they're setting themselves up for disdain and HOPEFULLY failure.
