Reader comment on item: Hold Damascus Responsible [for Hezbollah Violence in Southern Lebanon]

Submitted by John R (United States), Aug 1, 2006 at 20:13

I think going after Syria might be a very good idea. I now think that there should be no cease fire until Hezbollah is greatly crippled or destroyed.

Initially I did not believe this, that we should not go into an all out war. But we are already deep into it so what the Israelis have started they should finish. Finish off Hezbollah.

Hezbollah is a terrorist organization that does not deserve any support from anyone, and for someone to treat the confilict as bickering of two parties that need to stop is mistaken. It seems to me that for someone to insist on a cease fire or stopping all these altogether against the wish of Israel is legitimizing Hezbollah. And going back to where we were before would be of no benefit. If we finish off Hezbollah, we accomplish something. We controlled terrorism and we sent a message that terrorism should not be tolerated. To not to seems we just made noise.

Just finish them off. Terrorists need to be controlled. The entire world should back us up. The fact that Europe does not puzzles me. Can someone help me on this. Why do we have much European criticism?
