Reader comment on item: Hold Damascus Responsible
in response to reader comment: Response to Bisvas

I thought you commented on my comparison of Mohammad bin Kasim's action with the situation of today .

Anyway. You portray the USA as the too innocent lamb of god. That is unfortunately not so. USA has a lot of dirt sticking on its behind and face - which it naturally cannot see, unless a mirror be held up.

Would have been better if the SU had taken over parts of Iran and Anatolia - so my thoughts today. To call Anatolia as Turkey means to forget the slow extermination of Greeks, Assyrians and Armenians by the turkish ethno-fascists during the past 1000 years.

Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower were decent men, no doubt - but pawns in the hands of the dollar-greedy and the dollar-mighty. This was what led to the creation of Nixons and Reagans, men form petty lower class families, who wanted to become big by flattering the capitalists, by being more anti-red than the rich. But that is all past now.

My thesis remains that USA could have and should have recognised that islam was and is inherently the far greater evil and danger (than bolshevism) and co-opted the SU (which did change slowly towards a better society and did produce a Gorbachov) and together struck at the islamic evil. Unfortunately the SU was "godless" and the muslimos talked incessantly of god (allah is yahveh with a damaged memory !) and thus the dollar-greed-blind US americans got mighty fooled. The bolsheviks, for all their faults and sins (of which there are very many) were more humane (amenable to humanist thoughts) than you can ever expect from the muslimos. Even right now US administration is befooling itself about the muslims. I still see in USA no consequential honest plan to defend itself and mankind against the rapidly-growing islamic menace. Another few months (or weeks?) of this bushy self-deceit, smugness and party-throwing and it will become unmanageable.
