Syrian culpability

Reader comment on item: Hold Damascus Responsible [for Hezbollah Violence in Southern Lebanon]

Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Aug 1, 2006 at 06:58

Syria seems to have too many moles in the Lebanese govt, right through to Lebanese armed forces, intelligence, political parties and what not. So, the controlling strings of Lebanese govt actions lie in Damascus. So far, Syria can comfortably sit back , with absolutely no cost to itself, while Lebanon takes the brunt of israeli military action. Unless Lebanese nationalists completely purge Lebanese got of Syrian moles and Syria stops controlling Hezbollah and others in Lebanon, there will be no peace in Lebanon.

When Syria pays the price of it's interference in Lebanon, then it will change it's course.
