"And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

As I see it, the people in the world now are being forced, through the pressures that societies create, to make choices..... and we can choose between becoming more awakened (to 'spirit) - or drowning in the sense world. People who follow religions as though all that is required is to follow a bunch of rules, don't 'get' it. Islam is an extreme example of this, and has become a source of evil. How any sane person can read the koran and other islamic 'scriptures' and not see how off it is, is simply astonishing yet generations of moslems have done exactly this. It is in essence a fear-based religion and the fear and ignorance just keeps feeding on itself, gobbling up human consciousness..

Back on track...I think that the 'robes' mentioned in that verse are the bio-energetic fields of the people, the energy of their 'souls' if you like. People really connected with spirit have an energy that is unmistakable.

"The garden in Genesis, where Adam and Eve communed with God, also had rivers proceeding out of it, also contained the "tree of life" and also was protected by ch'ruvim."

If there was a literal Eden, southern Turkey fills all the criteria. The mysterious 12,000 y.o. Gobekli Tepe monument, the source of the Tigris & Euphrates rivers, suggested source of the agrarian revolution, cuneiform writing etc.

"That's why I said that it seems there's a "time warp" of sorts, where that new universe has contact with our present universe. Have you read the Narnia Chronicles, by C. S. Lewis?"

Yes, a long time ago.

"...but those who had not died only saw themselves in a dark place, and imagined themselves to be inside a barn."
Wasn't that the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe? And the portal was the back of the wardrobe?

"Lewis seemed to be trying to describe the portal I'm alluding to."

Maybe the allegorical portal to this other world is in the heart.

"Those who had died in "present" Narnia saw this world as it was; but those who had not died only saw themselves in a dark place,"

and the analogy is if you die to your lower nature/awaken to the higher nature - you see the world as it really is - which is truly amazing. And if you don't die to it/awaken to something higher - people will definitely see themselves in 'outer darkness'.
