three letters - hiding a whole lot of meaning

in response to reader comment: It's about a relationship, not a merging; locust-like helicopters

First of all, I wouldn't put "God" in quotation marks:

'G-O-D' is obviously just three letters of the Roman alphabet arranged in a specific sequence - and recognised by users of the same alphabet and who have some degree of exposure to the English language. The letters are not 'sacred'. It is used , as all writing is, to describe something, to activate something, an understanding, unique to the reader's mind. Thinking otherwise is as dumb as thinking that a little green book is 'sacred' , being the literal 'words of allah'.

Put another way, the actual realiy of 'God' has nothing to do with the letters 'g-o-d', obviously.

"He has a definite, well-defined personality. "

Also, He is ubiquitous but not literally "everywhere".

Ubiquitous means in all places, everywhere. Therefore sustaining all points in spave and time and beyod, therefore behind all phenomena, therefore inside each human being, but most importantly as far as you are concerned, inside you.

For instance,

Our "true nature"? The Bible says,

Jer.17:
[9] The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Wickedness is not our real nature. It is a defilement - both the cause and result of ignorance

[21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

A fully enlightened being has no ignorance, is completely aware and is pure compassion.

Our "true" nature, until redeemed, is worthy of hell. When we accept redemption through faith in Messiah, we are given a new nature.

If your focus is the world - you'll never , ever be fulfilled. It is empty. If you're overfocussed on it - you'll be in a hell in your own awareness. So you have to enter the Kingdom of Heaven to get redeemed. Where is it?

"It means becoming progressively more conscious as one realises one was never truly separated from that which always exists. Put another way, if you're feeling separated from 'God' you are feeling separated from your self."

There is definitely a separation between a man and God, until they are reconciled:

But where does the reconciliation happen? At your local McDonald's drive-thru, your dentist's waiting room, on top of Mt. Rainier - or inside your own being? BTW is it called Mt Rainier because it rains there more than other places?

The Gentiles, however, are milling about in darknes, clueless about the One God except for a knowledge, from observing Nature, of His eternal power and "Godness"

The 'Godness' is inside us - where it can be observed most profoundly and intimately.

There's no "merging" here. God is a unique individual; and we relate to Him (or not) as individuals.

You could say we have a relationship with our fundamental truth, our deepest selves, which is not separated from what you are calling God.

They object to a generally-held Christian belief that their way back is to become Christians -- and at that, like Christians who themselves have no active relationship with God. It's all about relationship.

And do Christians object to a belief that their way back is to become 'gnostic'?

The helicopter is produced by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) / and AgustaWestland, an Anglo-Italian consortium.

Oh, OK - a UK/Italian consortium - nothing original from the Turks. MV Agusta made good motorbikes - so probably branched out into the military, like SAAB etc

and in terms of the prophecy, the Russian Hinds also look amazingly locust-like.

Yes. I'm pretty impressed with the Sukhoi jets currently visiting Syria too. The Russians have some great designers.
