Interesting. I hadn't thought of tautology in maths. Brings back memories of truth tables, boolean algebra, logic gates etc at uni. Headache.

""Death" might be thought of as "The Grim Reaper"."

Sure, but death from hunger , plague, war , car accidents etc is still Death - so it kind of is a tautology/redundancy. No one says death was caused by death. They say death was caused by hunger, plague, anoxia, blunt force trauma etc etc. Most of us do not anthropomorphise 'Death' into a character these days. It's simply when lifeforce leaves the body.

"..what we are seeing in the Muslim World, Central Africa and parts of Latin America, is widespread low grade killing and moderated destruction. Even the most violent conflicts, like the Syrian Civil War, are more theater than struggle.."

I'm fine with being in the audience. What we don't want is for audience participation in this drama to be part of the script or for the show to stay on Broadway too long or be shown in other theatres.

"...The area covered by the struggle is roughly a fourth of the earth's land area (The "earth", in ancient texts, never referred to a "planet"; it referred to the part of our world made of "earth", or "dirt")..."

Good point - but it is still a vey large area that would be involved.Russia is 1/6th of the earth's surface - so for 1/4 of the world's surface to be involved in sustained warfare would be hugely disruptive to everyone and to the biosphere though even it could recover as long as nukes were not involved.

Heavy duty bio weapons would be targetted at affecting humans but most likely decimate many mammalian species as well except those in the oceans. So dolphins, seals and whales might yet get to have this paradise pretty much all to themselves until surviving mammalian populations built up their numbers!

So bringing it back to the present day - the spread of islamofascism in the ME and even in our countries is really the only player on the block lilkely to seriously stuff things up for humanity. Russians are very similar to us (but seem to have the need to be ruled by dictators) . Chinese are not similar to us culturally but are smart enough to know when they are beat especially when they don't have a pot to piss in militarilly vis a vis the USA. And you must know US-born Chinese who are just Americans in Chinese looking bodies - so it's cultural/political divisions that create strife. Individuals whose sole raison d'etre is amassing economic/political power.

Similarly for the many devious leaders and multitude of fanatics in islam who are intent on amassing political/religious power in their hell-bent desire to follow their their moon god's instructions and do whatever they can that they think will please their imagination of their uneducated arab , child marrying, multiple wived narcissistic yet very, very dead 7th century leader.

It was always burning
Since the world's been turning....."

Can we put it out?
