in response to reader comment: What not to do in the final days

1. Continue in Well Doing

Does that mean 'doing well'?

I agree one should continue on one's path no matter what the circumstances are. That is the whole point - not to be reliant on our illusions of how we think we should make ourselves happy - for happiness. Change is always going to happen, from time to time it's radical change personally - but the shock can lead to growth if you use it properly. Crtinly you'll get an insight into yourself and others.

"..because it is a good thing to try to protect your loved ones against those who want to harm them..."

Luckily it's also perfectly normal and perfectly justifiable to do so - hopefully you have also included yourself in the list of your loved ones. That goes without saying, right? Says me, who doesn't have the right to bear arms , unless I have a licence and discharge the firearm not in a built-up area and .....

"They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
[38] And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans."

Not being a Roman, I can't count on such largesse from potential future captors, I'm afraid. I'm under no illusions of having to prove to myself how tolerant I am. I never strike a first blow , but for better or worse, if attacked I aim to give back as good as I get and then some. I think that's entirely sensible.

As far as Israel goes, surrounded as they are by such a bloodthirsty horde they do pretty much the same thing. More power to them. As far as allowing oneself to be led like a sheep to slaughter - that's not natural. It's cowardice.
