My religion isn't about ethics; it's about God

HI, Prashant

The Christian religion began with God, before any ethical works had been performed..

God formed a man, and breathed His spirit into him -- before any ethical works had been performed

God then formed the woman at his side. He communed with both of them in Paradise, a place no longer accessible to anyone but Messiah. No ethical works had been performed before then.

Eve fell into sin, then did an ethical work: she shared the forbidden fruit with her husband. That got both of them thrown out of Paradise.

God set Chruvim around Paradise, to guard it so neither the man nor woman could ever again enter, regardless of how many ethical deeds they did.

God chose Messiah, before he had done one ethical deed. Messiah was then killed, presumably because of an ethical violation. To be precise, he offended the religious leaders of his day, treating them in a way they did not want to be treated.

God rose Messiah from the dead, and placed him in Paradise -- the place where Adam and Eve once lived.

That's my religion. God isn't interested in ethics. He's interested in redeeming that which was lost, namely Adam and Eve. They cannot be redeemed by any ethical work. They can only trust in the one who has been redeemed; and in him, they share his redemption.

Other religions may be about ethics. Mine isn't.
