"You're asking me, as though I should know the answer. "

Presenting the question is not implying you know the answer.

"First of all, why did the singularity (if it existed -- remember, it is just a hypothetical concept) have to be contained?"

Observations and mathematical interpretations of the current state of th3 known universe make it a pretty safe bet that the singularity occi=urred. All that is was contained in an infintely small point (size: Planck length?) If space/time occurred at the first trillionth of a second after the 'Big Bang' then time did not exist. Space did not ecist. It was 'contained' inside what? Mind (consciousness) maybe?

Dark matter/energy

"What of it? If it exists, we know from the above where it comes from. As to where it is, what does this have to do with the singularity, with creation or with anything? "

70% is a huge percentage of the universe to go missing - yet apparently it's all around us. Seems silly to ignore it. Yes - it all must have come from the same source.

My understanding is that before any "thing" -- including time-space -- existed, the laws governing its formation existed. These were contained in the word of God, as per:"
