Reader comment on item: Reflections on the Revolution in France*

Submitted by JAC DUQUETTE (United States), Feb 13, 2006 at 23:02

My biggest fear is that this rioting we are now seeing is a new weapon in the Muslim arsenal and is being used at will from a cave in Afghanistan, or Pakistan.

With just a small cadre of provacateurs circulating freely because they need no arms or other support, they just need their heads and the skill to frame the current argument or indignity in incendiary terms and we can have a riot in one city, country or region, wherever we have enough angry Muslims to make a noise. It can be stopped when it has intimidated the right person, government or nation. When the leader wants to pull someone's tail, it will just take a whisper in the night.

The early riots in France were a tune up. The cartoon riots were a conflagration around the world. Where will the next one be?

Mr. Bush has a new nightmare.
