It would seem that the rioters are French-born Arab and Africans. Turks and other Muslims living in France do not seem to be involved. According to Reuters, http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L08162358.htm, on Tuesday Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan urged Turkish immigrants living in Europe to avoid getting caught up in violent riots.

The failure of the media to mention Islam would seem to have little to do with Turkey. The media's mostly fails to mention the rioters as Arab/ African, prefering to call them poor and disaffected 'French' youth.
